5-Minute Orange Biscuits

COOK MODE
Course: Breads and Rolls
1st Gen Author: Emily

Ingredients

  • 3 cans Pillsbury Buttermilk FLAKY Biscuits

Filling

  • 1 C sugar
  • ½ C butter
  • 1 orange grate rind and juiced (reserve juice)

Glaze

  • Juice from 1 orange
  • Powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbs butter melted
  • Touch of milk if needed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Arrange biscuits in a 9×13 baking dish or on a cookie sheet. Place biscuits close together so they are touching. Melt butter in the microwave, stir in sugar and orange rind. Pour mixture evenly over biscuits.
  • Bake 12-18 minutes.
  • While biscuits are baking, prepare glaze. Mix melted butter and orange juice together. Whisk in enough powdered sugar to make a thin glaze. Use milk to thin and powdered sugar to thicken as needed. Once biscuits are baked, let stand 3-5 min, then drizzle glaze over baked biscuits.

Notes

We started having these at Break-the-Fast at Grandma Macdonald’s in Arizona. The kids were all at the age where they were learning how to fast and were always starving after church, so this was a quick bread to make that didn’t have to be raised. Eventually this tradition was replaced with Rhodes Rolls that could raise while we were at church! 🙂 Simplify on the Sabbath!
